SoulZU has been masterminded by two ex-Melbourne musicians passionate about soul & funk music.
When Cornel Tudorov and Melissa Dever moved to Brisbane they looked around for places to hang out and listen to cool music. But as great as the live scene in Brisbane can be, they couldnt find a true 'old school' soul & funk band to listen to...and so the idea of SoulZU was born.
SoulZU is big, totally live and super funky. SoulZU selects their band members for talent, reliability and most importantly...passion! Together the 12 members have over 120 years of experience entertaining audiences. With that many years under our collective belt, its amazing we still look as hot and funky as we do!!
Collectively our musicians have performed all over Australia, North America and Asia and have performed with the likes of James Brown, Stevie Wonder, The Grand Wazoo, The Drifters, Helen Reddy, Tower of Power, and Kate Cebrano to name a few.
SoulZU has performed at many top venues and events around Queensland, some of these include:

- Barsoma
- Jupiters Casino (Gold Coast)
SoulZU has also performed at large corporate events for:
- The Queensland Turf Club
- Queensland Teachers Association
- St John Ambulance
- The Coles Myer Group
- The Queensland State Government
SoulZU also performed at the Caxton Street Festival this year (2009) alongside such artists as Grace Knight and The Dukes of Windsor.
